Sit back, relax, and enjoy La-Z-Boy's well-organized website, which covers
all the bases.
IN A NUTSHELL
Caught between its traditional, conservative customer base and the hip promise of its new TV commercials, www.lazyboy.com is a site in transition. The site covers all the basesand goes a bit beyondbut ultimately, it fails to live up to the new image rolled out in its recent advertising campaign.
BRAVO
The site caters to a wide variety of usersexisting customers, shoppers, prospective franchisees, investors, job seekerswho can find most anything they're looking for on the La-Z-Boy site. Sections such as the Design Center and Customer Care provide good (if skimpy) content and intuitive information organization. The site also includes personalization features such as the My Studio section, which enables users to save and store product and fabric selections and room plans. The site also offers a line of La-Z-Boy apparel, business gifts, promotional products, and oddly, a La-Z-Boy football helmet.
TRY AGAIN
Though most of the site features intuitive navigation and information presentation, an inconsistent use of new windows disrupts the user experience. And though the design is clean and spare, we found the type disconcertingly small and hard to read. A poor layout, tricky user interface, and low-quality photos mar a timeline packed with interesting information.
