BEA's site contains great SOA information, but navigating to it can be problematic.
IN A NUTSHELL
Designed for IT and executive professionals who are evaluating Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and want to learn more about BEA's offering, the site contains good information about the approach, but could use greater prominence as a unique resource center.
BRAVO
This site is well integrated into the BEA corporate site, with a consistent look and feel; however, considering the recent emergence of SOA and the lack of understanding about its merits, we think this area could benefit from a standout treatment. We applaud the clear logic of the various site sections and the flow of content through the steps of SOA consideration. BEA has included an appropriate density of information for a Web presentation. Links to SOA case studies in PDF format are just what we want to read..
TRY AGAIN
Navigation is confusing and inconsistent, with few clues to help you decipher the lay of the land. We suspect that an existing template from the technology resource center was used to build the SOA, since the pages are labeled "Technology Resource Center | SOA Resource Center," leaving visitors to wonder which area they have actually entered. To strengthen the website content, we would introduce business challenges in a more visible location and incorporate the "Liquid Computing" discussion into more areas of the site.
