Don't the folks at Adobe know that a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds?

IN A NUTSHELL

Ordinarily, we're all for website consistency, but Adobe's site has elevated the principle to canon law. The result is a curiously bland site that does little to promote Adobe's solution for enterprise customers.

BRAVO

Headlines are straightforward and immediately communicate value, in sharp contrast to body copy that's often muddled and filled with marketing jargon. Clean, easy-to-understand graphics underscore the professional tone of the section. Specific links for different users provide information pathways to get data quickly and easily. And all pages load lightening fast—even PDFs!

TRY AGAIN

Throughout the site, overly consistent page templates create a bland look and feel. Text links don't stand out visually, and calls to action aren't. Complicated, marketing-focused language obscures the message. Lack of breadcrumbs or other navigational devices leave users wondering where they are. And in left-hand navigation, use of acronyms under Cross Industry Solutions is odd and alienating (DOM anyone?).
