Job Posting - Interactive Producer
Tendo Communications, a San Francisco-based marketing services agency specializing in customer communication and custom publishing programs, seeks a full-time interactive producer.
This person possesses a commanding knowledge of best practices, industry trends, and a passion for innovative ideas for crafting better digital experiences. We're looking for someone with strengths in marketing, performance measurement, and analytics. Requirements include five years of interactive/web agency industry experience and excellent communication and presentation skills.
The interactive producer (IP) will anchor the firm’s growing interactive practice and build the department. The IP develops and manages the production of interactive projects for clients as well as Tendo’s own marketing programs. Working with content creators, the IP develops Web technologies/applications that help our clients engage their customers. IP develops the plan to implement those programs, works closely with the project team and client, and leads the development and delivery.
The IP is responsible for managing the production of multiple projects. She/he works closely with all Tendo team members to develop project schedules, project documentation, and client extranets. Duties include management of external design and technical resources, development of internal operations, vendor management, and quality assurance.
Specific Responsibilities
Web Production Management
- Budget, hire, and manage external Web development and design resources
- Develop interactive strategy for clients and plan for implementation
- Create and maintain process documentation (site maps, asset trackers, etc.)
- Maintain knowledge of Web technologies and usability best practices
- Oversee website quality assurance, testing, and launch activities
- Maintain Tendo’s website, blog, and email marketing program
- Support Tendo marketing efforts and collateral
Project Management
- Optimize Web production workflow and job processes; respond to individual client needs and adapt as necessary to deliver high-quality service
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules
- Manage production budgets for assigned projects: understand budget before project kickoff, make sure that production invoices are received and expenses paid in a timely manner, reconcile budget vs. actuals at conclusion of the project
- Deliver assigned projects on schedule and on budget
Client Relations
- Provide outstanding customer service to all Tendo clients; look for opportunities to add value
- Communicate clearly in all client interaction, including email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
- Proactively communicate with clients as required (in coordination with project lead); anticipate challenges and suggest solutions
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of Web production experience
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including clear client communication
- Terrific client relations skills; the successful candidate will understand how to navigate diplomatically in complex environments, build consensus through influence rather than authority, and deliver great customer service
- Project management skills; ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple project schedules
- Understanding of and interest in marketing trends and opportunities, including email marketing and search engine optimization
- Independent work-style, ability to plan and execute with little direction, creative problem-solving skills and initiative
- Comfortable collaborating with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy a diversity of tasks and projects
- Ability to communicate between account management, creative, and technical team members
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Dreamweaver and Photoshop
- Overview understanding of Web technologies and languages (Flash, JavaScript, CSS, RSS, XML); HTML hand-coding a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Word and PowerPoint
- Understanding of all that Web 2.0 stuff (even though the term “Web 2.0” probably makes your skin crawl)
- Handle stress with grace and tact and possess an excellent sense of humor
